Apple to Launch Standalone Siri App With Advanced AI Integration in iOS 27

Apple is redesigning Siri for the upcoming iOS 27, launching it as a standalone application with a brand – new look. Bloomberg reports that a new “Ask Siri” feature will soon let users call upon the assistant from within any of the company’s software products.

The new design – resembling a chatbot interface – will debut at WWDC on June 8. Apple intends for Siri to evolve from a basic voice tool into a system – level AI agent with profound integration across all programs.

The assistant is being built to better manage Mac and iPhone features using personal data such as notes, emails, and messages. It will handle tasks across different apps, access news, and perform web searches using Apple’s own models.

A major change is the shift toward both voice and text interaction. The main app interface will show past conversations in a grid or list, where users can pin favorites, save history, and start new chats via a plus button.

Users will find toggles for voice mode and options for file uploads. When starting a conversation, the AI will offer suggestions based on how the user has interacted with the device in the past.

Beyond voice commands, Siri can be activated via the power button. Apple is also testing a new design where the assistant sits at the top of the screen within the Dynamic Island.

iOS 27 may see Siri replace Spotlight search. This interface will help find on – device info quickly and manage complex requests, while “Siri Suggestions” will recommend apps, settings, and calendar entries.

Additional features include “Ask Siri” for context on images or text, and “Write with Siri.” This provides writing tools for creating and editing content directly through the assistant.
